Honors High School Credit Program
The LSU Honors High School Credit Program offers ambitious middle and high school students the
chance to earn a unit of honors high school credit in just six weeks.
Independent & Distance Learning - High School
Our program offers more than 75 high school courses that are fully approved and
accredited by the Louisiana Department of Education, NCAA Clearinghouse and the Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools.
Louisiana Junior Science and Humanities Symposium
JSHS invites high school students to conduct an original research investigation in the sciences, engineering or
mathematics, and to participate in the regional symposium sponsored by Louisiana State University and the Academy
of Applied Sciences.
Louisiana Science and Engineering Fair
Science Fair provides a stage from which the middle and high school students can demonstrate their serious
contributions to science and engineering. By participating in the Fair, students learn how to isolate important
problems and how to attack and hopefully solve problems all within the framework of organized, logical thought
and study. Science fair provides the initial opportunity for students to exhibit their research projects, and
present to people from business, industry, and education.
Reading Skills Program
Our programs in this series produces a significant boost in reading skill and comprehension, and also helps to
stimulate a lifelong interest in reading for pleasure.
Test Preparation
Our ACT Exam Preparation courses prepare you to test your best and improve your chances for college admission and
scholarships. The courses focus on analyzing and reviewing essential material to be covered in the exams and offering
test-taking tips and strategies to help improve your score.
Bengal Youth Gymnastics
LSU offers a variety of exciting year-round gymnastics courses for children of all ages and skill levels at LSU’s
Gymnastics Training Center, located in the Carl Maddox Field House. Under the direction of LSU Assistants Bob Moore
and Philip Ogletree, girls and boys from ages 3 to high school will build strength, balance, coordination, and self
esteem while learning new skills and improving old ones. Children may take one or two days of class each week. A
low ratio for instructors to students is kept to help in the learning and succession process of your child.
