Louisiana Junior Science & Humanities Symposium

Louisiana State University invites students currently enrolled in grades 9-12 and who are engaged in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) research to participant in the Louisiana Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium. Sponsored by the U.S. Army Research Office, Office of Naval Research, and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, students compete for scholarships and recognition by presenting the results of their original research. The top 5 award winners will earn an expense-paid trip to compete at the JSHS National Symposium in San Diego, CA later this year and compete against the best young science minds in our country.

 2017 Winners Announced:

1st Place: Mary Catherine Lorio, St. Joseph's Academy

2nd Place: Hannah Miletello, St. Joseph's Academy

3rd Place: Anusha Zaman, Baton Rouge Magnet H.S.

4th Place: Alicia Smith, Caddo Parish Magnet H.S.

5th Place: Lara Nicholson, St. Joseph's Academy

Poster Presentation: John Van Savage, Caddo Parish Magnet H.S.

Teacher Award: Melissa Estremera, Episcopal H.S.

JSHS President Scholar Award: Abigail Lefluer, St. Joseph's Academy
