Getting To Your Course

Most courses meet on campus in academic buildings, including the LSU Student Union.

Some courses meet off campus at private businesses or other locations in and around Baton Rouge. Course locations and directions are noted in the course description and on your confirmation.

Parking on the LSU Campus

Leisure courses take place at locations on and off campus, and at different times of the week and day. The rules for parking differ depending on who you are and your relationship to LSU.

Permits are required to park on campus during the week, day or night. No permit is required on weekends, or for courses that meet off campus (other parking rules may apply at off-campus locations).

LSU, SU and BRCC students, faculty, and staff

  • 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., park in the zone to which your permit is assigned
  • After 4:30 p.m., park in any legal, unreserved space, provided the permit is properly displayed.

Visitors to campus

  • Parking permits are required for all vehicles on campus Monday–Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Parking for Saturday and Sunday courses does not require a permit.
  • You may park in any metered space and pay at the nearest pay station for a per-hour fee.
  • You may purchase a parking permit, valid for the days of your course, at the Visitor’s Center (Dalrymple Drive at Highland Road). This permit allows you to park in campus commuter lots during weekdays. After 4:30 p.m., the permit allows you to park in any LSU lot except metered spaces. To purchase this type of permit, you must show your registration confirmation/receipt.

Permits must be purchased at the Visitor's Center on the corner of Dalrymple Drive and Highland Road (Hours: Mon-Fri, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.)

More information about parking can be found at the LSU Parking and Transportation Services website.
