What is LSU ELOP?

The ELOP teaches intensive English as a second language to international students for academic, professional, and personal purposes. The low cost of living in Baton Rouge and competitive tuition fees make study dollars go farther. The program also offers a variety of electives, including TOEFL preparation and practice.

The English Language & Orientation Program (ELOP) is the only Baton Rouge, Louisiana, member of UCIEP, AAIEP, NAFSA, and TESOL; Louisiana State University (LSU) is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

How Do I Apply?

Apply to learn English during any of the five Eight-Week Basic Courses per year, with levels ranging from elementary to advanced.

To apply:

  1. Complete the ELOP Application Form for the appropriate session. (You may obtain a form by clicking Application Forms at any point.)
  2. Provide proof of high school completion. (See Evidence of Eligibility on Application for Admission.)
  3. Complete statement of Financial Support.
  4. Check form carefully and sign.
  5. Send completed Application Form and documents with a $80.00 check payable to LSU as a non-refundable application fee.
